NETWORK THEOREMS THEORY

In network theorems we firstly study basics of network terms used in network theory network analysis Definations of important laws about network theory..

WHAT IS NETWORK : An arrangement of Electrical sources and circuit elements is called an network.
Here we use sources means electrical energy sources ie; Voltage sources, Current sources and  Circuit elements means resistance, inductance, capacitance etc.

IDEAL AND PARCTICAL VOLTAGE SOURCES:-

VOLTAGE SOURCES :- In electric circuit it is very important to understand ideal and practical voltage sources.

Ideal Voltage Source.  An ideal voltage source is one that maintains a constant terminal voltage no effect how much current is drawn from it.
Note :- An ideal voltage source has constant terminal voltage regardless
of current supplied by it.An ideal voltage source has zero internal resistance.

PRACTICAL VOLTAGE SOURCES :-
There is no such thing as an ideal voltage source. A practical voltage
source has internal resistance R, that acts in series in practically The internal
resistance causes the terminal voltage to drop if the current is made sufficiently large (ie ;if a small enough resistance is connected across the terminals). As the internal resistance becomes smaller, the practical voltage source more closely approaches the ideal source. In many situations, it is convenient to assume a practical voltage source like an ideal one.

IDEAL AND PRACTICE CURRENT SOURCES :-

IDEAL CURRENT SOURCE :- An ideal current source (also called constant current source) will supply the same Current to any Resistance connected to its terminals.
NOTE:-  An ideal current source has infinite Resistance

PRACTICAL CURRENT SOURCE:- There is no such things as ideal Current source. It is because a practical Current source always has some internal resistance that causes current to drop if the voltage developed across the terminals become sufficiently large A practical Current source has internal resistance is in parallel with the source. The value of this shunt Resistance determine how closely the current source approaches the ideal one.

Summery:- The voltage and current source are called active elements  because they provide electrcal energy to a circuit..
